The Andy Griffith Show Episode 36: Barney on the Rebound

Barney's head is turned by lovely young newcomer Melissa Stevens, who proves to be the more attractive half of a team of con artists out to trap naive young bachelors into breach-of-promise settlements. Andy saves the day by calling the bluff of Melissa's suspiciously young "father", George Stevens. In the middle of what the pair had hoped would be their payoff, Andy begins the wedding vows, and the two back off.

"This one's a classic! I mean, that gal Melissa really seduces Barney with her beautiful face and sexy smile. No wonder Thelma Lou gets so jealous! Then Barney goes, "I'm through with women, Andy! As far as I'm concerned you can take every blame female and send 'em on a slow boat to China!" Then suddenly he does a 180 when he answers the phone and says, "Well hi Melissa!" Gawldurn, that was funny! And when Andy saves Barney in the end, Andy must've went with his gut feelings b/c when Barney asks him, "How did you know?", Andy replies, "I didn't."
