On his way back from finding out that Old Man Goss has misplaced his ol' salt and pepper suit, Barney spots Fred Plummer sweeping litter into the street and tickets him. Plummer pays the ticket but vows revenge, threatening to get his money's worth the first time he catches Barney out of uniform. Andy learns of the threat and arranges for Mr. Izamoto(Barney's judo instructor) to dress up in Barney's ol' salt and pepper and teach Plummer a lesson by proxy.

"This one was one of the worst Barney episodes. Kind of boring except for the very last part when Barney finally faces Plummer without his uniform and sees Fred is afraid of Barney, Barney goes into his famous "proud, tough talking routine" like he did with the same character in the roadside vegetable stand episode. There was never anyone funnier than Don Knotts and that includes Lucille Ball and the Three Stooges. Don gets the trophy for #1 All Time Comedian!!" - Sammy from Idaho

"Ok something I want to know...the Judo man beats Fred Plummer. Ok, does Fred supposed to know that it was the Judo man after all when Barney comes and talks to him at the end? Lets say after the Mr. Izamto beats Fred, Fred figures out who it is. So when Barney comes to talk to Fred, after getting beat, respects the art of Judo and doesnt hurt Barney because of it. This makes more sense than Fred thinking it was Barney the whole time. Because if he did, it would seem odd for Barney to come right back like he'd never been there and Fred not say something about it. you know like "What are you doing back?" or something. But Fred doesnt. He treats Barney like its the first time; notice he doesnt say to Barney that "Barney" could kill someone with Judo. Or Im sorry Barney..boy your good at that Judo..why did you come back? Im sorry! See? Fred doesnt say any of this. SO it makes more sense that Fred found out who Mr. Izamoto was...and realizes that hes been fooled, but respects the art of judo and is scared of Barney now because he things Barn is an expert of Judo. Does anyone have any comments or info about this? Thanks" - Brandon from Louisville

"Ok, we know that the same actors played multiple roles in the show. And some of these actors went on to do comercials or other shows. As I was saying people get a life and watch a real show like Roseanne. I don't understand how any of you can be so wrapped up in the show that time stands still for you when it's on. I have seen Goober goes to the auto show so much I even know every word of it." - Susanna wife of Jimmy from Conway, Ak

"Allan Melvin is the actor who played Fred Plummer, a plumber by the name of Clyde Plaunt who bullied Howard Sprague, and in the 1970's did the TV commercials for Liquid Plumr." - Jimmy from Conway, Ark.
